Mobility

Better mobility within the planetary boundaries

Through analysis, dialogue, and contributions to concrete solutions, CONCITO's Mobility Program will promote a more climate-friendly transport system with better mobility through other modes of transport and better use of our existing infrastructure.

Mobility is essential for society to function. We all need to eat and move around for work and leisure. But the transport sector is lagging in the green transition.

Although electric cars are gaining ground, the roads are overwhelmingly dominated by emission cars. This is true for passenger cars and even more so for vans and trucks. At the same time, we are flying more and more.

The transport system is growing and taking up more and more space. It makes more noise, increases congestion in cities, and pollutes more. We need to reverse this trend so that by 2050 - and preferably long before - we can meet our mobility needs within planetary boundaries.

The Mobility Program must therefore accelerate the transition to a net-zero society, so the transport sector also takes its share of the 70% reduction by 2030. We must do it in a way that makes Denmark's approach worth copying for the rest of the world.

The Mobility Program therefore focuses on these five themes:

  1. Leading the way to mobility and accessibility in the net zero society.
  2. Analyzing how EU requirements affect Danish sectoral targets in terms of reductions and commitments
  3. Promoting green transformation of freight transport through most direct electrification.
  4. Creating holistic thinking in relation to new Danish infrastructure.
  5. Promoting local transformation in the framework of the DK2020 cooperation.
