Climate Embassy

Green education for the next generation

The Climate Embassy is CONCITO's interface with children and young people, and the think tank's program focuses on supporting green education in educational institutions

Through its many projects and initiatives, the think tank's knowledge, networks, and recommendations are brought into play through educational projects and strategic collaborations.

The Climate Embassy was established in 2009 and has since worked to inspire and support the education of primary, secondary, and vocational school students on the climate and sustainability agenda. The Climate Embassy works in a knowledge-based and solution-oriented way with a practical, didactical and methodical approach to education, focusing on green action competencies.

From the beginning, Climate Ambassadors has worked with a youth-to-youth approach, where we train young students, our volunteer Climate Ambassadors, who assist us as facilitators on our school projects.

In most projects and initiatives, we have close contact with teachers and educators, so the Climate Ambassador ensures that students and teachers see what we contribute as relevant. We often collaborate with other organizations and actors to strengthen both the professional dimension and the local anchoring.

THE CLIMATE EMBASSY IN NUMBERS:
More than 85,000 school pupils have been taught by the Climate Embassy's 750+ volunteers, and the Climate Embassy's digital teaching platform sustainable.dk has had over 1.3 million visits in recent years.

In 2014, the Climate Embassy was named a global 'best practice' in youth sustainability education by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNDP).
