EU Program

The EU is one of the world's biggest emitters of greenhouse gases, accounting for around 6-7% of global emissions. The EU goes a long way toward defining Denmark's room for maneuver in the green transition with its regulatory framework.

Historically, the EU has had a role as a global climate leader, but this potential is not realized sufficiently. The EU must continue to have high ambitions and progressive mandates. Europe's green transition must underpin global climate action, not undermine it.

The program aims to give CONCITO a strong voice in the domestic debate on EU legislation and shape the EU's climate and energy policy agenda.

Based on a solid professional foundation, we will work with decision-makers and critical actors on solutions in EU climate and energy policy that support a positive vision of the EU's role in the world and Denmark's role in the EU.

In the EU program, we focus on:

1. Accelerating EU climate action based on well-designed policies without incentives could result in unintended global consequences.
2. Enriching the understanding of EU climate and energy policy in the Danish debate.
3. Promoting the EU's global leadership in the green transition

In order to support an innovative and ambitious transition, the EU program will seek to disseminate and contribute to knowledge generation that addresses the potentials and risks of EU climate policy. We will do it with a particular focus on decision-makers and in collaboration with national, EU, and global actors.
