Asger Garnak
Asger Garnak is Head of the Strategic Partnership Program between Concito and World Resources Institute. The purpose of the strategic cooperation is to strengthen the dissemination and utilization of state of the art knowledge on climate and sustainable development in both developing and developed countries in areas such as cities, food, energy, and investments and finance mobilization. The Partnership expands the joint efforts between the two organizations to disseminate global, Nordic and Danish experience with the green transition through networks and partnerships with governments, cities, companies, knowledge organizations and foundations.
Asger holds a master’s degree in business and economics, and his entire working life has been concerned with energy, climate, environment and finance. Asger comes from a position in the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate, where he has spent 10 years contributing to global collaboration to combat climate change and promoting the transition to low emission economies, with a special focus on energy sector transition and mobilization of private investment and finance. Along the way, Asger worked for 2 years as a senior advisor in the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and as a climate change attaché for Denmark in Mexico. Asger has been engaged in the international climate negotiations, and he has helped develop Denmark's international cooperation on green transition through bilateral cooperation and international organizations. Previously he worked for a number of years as an environmental economist at COWI and he started his career in the Danish civil society organization Forum for Energy and Development.
