The scenario for Danish climate neutrality in 2040 consists of future scenarios for four sectors: 1) Energy 2) Industry 3) Transport and 4) Agriculture and land use, which together provide a climate neutral Denmark. For each sector, it describes how emissions can be reduced and how CO2 can be absorbed to achieve an overall balance between emissions and absorption.
The four future scenarios are not forecasts of developments in the coming years, but CONCITO's professional assessment of a sustainable path to climate neutrality that is deemed technically and regulatory feasible.
The scenario is just one possible pathway to climate neutrality.
